People hate because they’re too cowardly to face their own fears. It is often easier to lash out at someone else than to undergo the pain of your own fears. Those who are so dead set against others’ for their ideas or beliefs are not really comfortable with their own. Consequently, they try to shore up their confidence in their own beliefs by repeatedly renouncing someone else’s.
Unfortunately, the energy wasted on hate does more damage to the hater than the hated. In order to grow spiritually, we have to have the courage to face our own demons—the fears within us that hold us back.
